Our Story

As the official food tour company of Atlanta, GA our challenge is to get you to see past those quesadillas and steaks on the restaurant menu and dive into the local cuisine of the South and of Midtown. We want to be there when you first taste the crunch of Carolina gold rice and see you smile after a cocktail made with vodka infused with honeysuckle, a local flower. So many surprises await!

As massive foodies — and native Atlantans– we were inspired to create the city’s top food tour by the very spirit of the South: its kind people, rich cuisine, and incredible history. We’re passionate about connecting people with local food makers, creating bonds through breaking bread and making the fun nooks and crannies of Atlanta your neighborhood, too. Come with us where we take pride in eating locally.

Flavors brand food tours, which are women-led, have created a cult following in St. Martin, St. Thomas USVI and San Juan, Puerto Rico. We’re excited for you to join us here in Atlanta and see what all the buzz is about! (we’ve been featured on CNN, the BBC, USA Today, and many others!)

Our Team

LeslieFounder/ CEO
As a native Atlantan, Leslie began her professional career as a journalist after graduating from the University of Georgia, M.A. Mass Communications. She has written for CNN, Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Gwinnett Daily Post, Caribbean Business, Que Pasa Magazine and the Puerto Rico Daily Sun.

She traded in grits for mofongo when moving from Atlanta to the Caribbean in 2008. In 2009 she founded the first food tour in the Caribbean: Flavors of San Juan Food and Culture Tours, highlighting Puerto Rico’s unique cuisine, culture and history. She’s happy to offer food tours in her native city and is back to eating much missed grits.

Through the years the Flavors brand has enjoyed a cult following in the region and we’re excited to share the “Flavors food tours” with you during your time in Atlanta, GA. Eat Well, Be Inspired® is our motto, and we invite you to do just that!

Fun fact: When she’s not butchering the Spanish language and having fun being a “Sorta Rican” Leslie spends time with her hubby, 2 kids and puppy, Max

YaribellFinance Director
Prior to joining the Flavors management team, Yaribell worked for a decade as the Compliance and Operations Officer at San Juan Asset Management. Before joining SJAM she worked as the CFO for a public corporation of the government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Yaribell earned her B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from The University of Puerto Rico. She is fluent in English, Spanish and salsa dancing.

A big fan of mofongo, homemade rice and beans and crème brulee, she’s found her perfect home here at Flavors. Her favorite travel experiences include visiting the Colosseum in Rome, Sunset Helicopter drive to the Grand Canyon in Colorado, a Gondolas tour in Venice, swimming with stingrays in Grand Cayman and swimming with dolphins in Xcaret, Mexico

Fun fact: when she’s not salsa dancing or crunching numbers she’s taking care of her TWINS!

Cristina Operations Director
Cristina’s originally from San Juan, where she earned a degree in Labor Relations and and MA in Media Editing by the tender age of 26. She moved to NYC in 2012, returning 5 years later to her homeland.

Cristina’s always been inspired by people’s behavior and psychology, which led her to create Spiral of Bliss in 2012: a personal blog and forum that inspires readers to live more fulfilled lives.

In her spare time she enjoys the company of loved ones, food, music, writing, traveling and, if the beat is right…dancing (sometimes all night!)

Fun Fact: In 2016 she traveled across 9 countries in 6 months. Favorite places: India and Japan.

VanessaOperations Assistant
Vanessa was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and is bilingual in Spanish, English and all things in between.

She earned a BA in Sociology with a minor in cultural studies, Aesthetics from Chile and her MA in Cultural Agency and Administration in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

A true foodie at heart, she enjoys cooking with new recipes and trying new restaurants.

Fun Fact: If you find her out and about ask her about her struggle with keeping her cat on a diet. Hey, cats can be foodies, too right?

RachelEpicurean Guide
A natural guide, Rachel was asked to represent her university to prospective and new students and she’s been hooked every since. An optimistic extrovert, Rachel also enjoys writing and has a degree in Public Relations with an English Minor.

She blends her love of writing and travel into her culinary and travel blog which she created while traveling the globe for five months with her husband.

She’s already hit 17 different countries and has a checklist of future countries she’s prepping to visit.

Silly joke: Two antennas met on a roof. They fell in love and got married. The wedding wasn’t much but the reception was great!
